Statement of Community
The MENA Studies Program is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community in the classroom as in our campus events. As scholars and students of the languages, cultures, histories, and arts of the region known as the Middle East and North Africa, we take particular care to acknowledge the conditions of knowledge production that have contributed to biased understandings of the region and its peoples. We are dedicated to challenging those biases through the curation of our programming and the cultivation of our classroom and online environments.
